Hooray for Twins

No, the twins aren't mine. Good friends have finally become parents after a long struggle and it's time to celebrate.

I stamped and heat embossed in gold the two largest roses from Jane's Doodles Bloom stamp set, as well as several of the leaves. I then ink smooshed (is this an "official" term yet?) several of the pink and purple shades of Distress Oxide ink for the roses and greens for the leaves. After then dried, I fussy cut them.

The background is shades of pastels from a multi pack of paper from Michael's. Hey, I'm just starting out and those coupons are dangerous. I used the largest die in the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large) from The Ton to cut the purple. I then cut 1" strips of the other colors and die cut them from the medium sized Stitched Scalloped Borders from Lawn Fawn. After measuring everything out, I then die cut the scalloped border on the purple paper, creating the layering. The sentiment is the Hooray script creative cuts from Mama Elephant. I die cut it three times from watercolor paper. The top layer has been pained with Arabic Gold Finetec watercolors to match the gold heat embossing of the flowers.
