Hello Lovely

I have been eyeballing the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely stamp set since it came out. What held me back was the uncertainty of ever using half the set (those stamp "blobs"). Last week my local stamp store was having a sale and there was Hello Lovely. It was a sign, right? And oh, it was a good decision.

I've had this layout in mind for a while - kind of looks like a doily with the scalloped vellum. I may or may not have also had to purchase the Lawn Fawn scalloped rectangle stackables dies too (don't tell my husband).

I stamped Hello Lovely in the corner with antique linen distress ink onto watercolor paper and watercolored it using my super generic, no-named watercolor set. I then die cut it with the second largest The Ton Stamps Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large). I then heat embossed the sentiment from Hello Lovely using Ranger super fine gold embossing powder.

I die cut a sheet of velum from the third largest of the Lawn Fawn scalloped rectangle stackables dies. A sheet of purple paper (brand unknown, from my scrapbooking stash) to A2 sized. The vellum is adhered flat to the card, with glue only in the center, where the main card panel covers it. I've also encouraged the scallops to curl up a little. The watercolor sheet is popped up with foam tape.

Hooray for Twins

No, the twins aren't mine. Good friends have finally become parents after a long struggle and it's time to celebrate.

I stamped and heat embossed in gold the two largest roses from Jane's Doodles Bloom stamp set, as well as several of the leaves. I then ink smooshed (is this an "official" term yet?) several of the pink and purple shades of Distress Oxide ink for the roses and greens for the leaves. After then dried, I fussy cut them.

The background is shades of pastels from a multi pack of paper from Michael's. Hey, I'm just starting out and those coupons are dangerous. I used the largest die in the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large) from The Ton to cut the purple. I then cut 1" strips of the other colors and die cut them from the medium sized Stitched Scalloped Borders from Lawn Fawn. After measuring everything out, I then die cut the scalloped border on the purple paper, creating the layering. The sentiment is the Hooray script creative cuts from Mama Elephant. I die cut it three times from watercolor paper. The top layer has been pained with Arabic Gold Finetec watercolors to match the gold heat embossing of the flowers.
